GARY A. MILLER is a
litigator. He has regularly appeared in both state and federal
courts and also actively participated in a variety of alternative
dispute resolution forums not only on behalf of clients, but also as a
mediator/facilitator. He concentrates his practice in the defense
of clients and has substantial experience in litigation which poses
serious exposure to the defendant. This includes commercial
trucking, construction, product and employment litigation. His
background in the defense of professional liability claims, including
medical malpractice, leaves him well versed in medical issues
particularly as they apply to various personal injury claims.
He has had the privilege of representing a variety
of professional clients including: accountants, architects, attorneys,
chiropractors, dentists, nurses, nursing homes, physician assistants,
physicians and podiatrists as well as medical device and pharmaceutical
manufacturers.
Gary graduated Cum Laude from the University of
Detroit School of Law and was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in
1978. He received his B.A. in Economics from the University of
Michigan in 1972 and his Masters in Public Administration from the
Maxwell School at Syracuse University in 1973.
Gary is a shareholder and sits on the Board of
Directors of Vandeveer Garzia, P.C. He has served on the
firm’s management committee as both Secretary and Vice
President. His professional memberships include the American,
Michigan and Detroit Metropolitan Bar Associations as well as the
Association of Defense Trial Counsel. From 1990 to 1993, Gary
served as co-chairman of the Medical Legal Committee which is a joint
committee of the Wayne County Medical Society and the Detroit
Metropolitan Bar Association. He continues to remain active on
the committee and has spoken at numerous seminars offered by the
committee. He has also lectured at the Negligence Section of the
State Bar and for the National Business Institute Seminar. He has
authored articles in the Michigan Defense Quarterly. For over 15
years he has sat as a case evaluator for the Wayne County Mediation
Tribunal with particular emphasis on their medical malpractice panel.
