DONALD C. BROWNELL is a Shareholder with Vandeveer Garzia and focuses his practice on civil
litigation defense matters involving Catastrophic First Party
Automobile disputes, premises liability claims and commercial disputes
for a variety of national clients. He has extensive trial experience in
both state and federal court.
Don graduated from Central Michigan University in
1990. He received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration,
majoring in Material and Logistics Management. He graduated from The
Detroit College of Law, cum laude, in May of 1993 and became a member
of the Michigan Bar. During law school, he received an American
Jurisprudence Award for excellence in the study of equity. He also
received the William P. Finch Book Award for excellence in the study of
both Advocacy I and Advocacy II.
Don currently represents several major insurance
carriers in various aspects of coverage disputes in both State and
Federal Court. He has also been involved in a number of major air
crash cases, including the last major crash in Michigan, Comair Flight
3272.
Don is curently a member of the State Bar of
Michigan, including the Litigation and Negligence Sections, the Defense
Research Institute, the American Bar Association, the Oakland County
Bar Association, the Michigan Defense Trial Council, and serves as a
Case Evaluator in Wayne County.
